Kid Friendly Green Smoothie Recipe

We (my husband and I) love a good green smoothie every morning, but our kids didn’t until we finally created a recipe that got them all the benefits of the greens with a taste they could tolerate.  They have even learned to like it.

Green smoothies are a big part of our typical morning routine.  We add just about anything we can to get in vitamins and minerals in a quick and tasty manner for our kids.  We even add a little extra coconut oil to the recipe when we make it for our child that has issues with weight gain.

Green Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

2 full cups of baby spinach

1/2 banana

1 cup broccoli

1/2 pear

1/2 green apple

1/5 large pineapple

1 kiwi

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon ground flax seed

Instructions

Combine all ingredients with a cup of ice and a cup of water in a high powered blender.  Add water to desired consistency.  Pour and enjoy!

Tips

Purchase the ingredients in bulk, cut them up and freeze in gallon storage bags to make mornings easier.

When ingredients are frozen, you can omit the ice.
