Where to Leave Notes for Dads
Kids can leave notes for dads just about anywhere. Dads especially love finding notes in unexpected places, like in their shoes.
Letting kids decide where to hide the notes can be lots of fun. Just make sure they hide them in places that dad looks on a regular basis. Remind younger children that the object is not to “hide” the notes from dad, but to hide them where he will find them. Help them think through dad’s day and his routine. Walk through his daily routine and hide notes along the way.
Some ideas of where to leave notes for dad (and also some great gift ideas for dads) are:
- in his lunchbox or lunch bag
- in his briefcase
- inside his car
- on the windshield of his car
- in his bathroom drawer
- on his nightstand (I love this docking station idea)
- next to the coffee pot
- in his favorite mug
- with his car keys
- near his wallet
- in his gym bag
- In his toolbox
- on his work bench
- Next to his plate at dinner

How to Leave Notes for Dad
Leaving notes for Dad from his children can be as simple as having them write a short message on a post it and leaving it where he can find it. However, you can always help your kids get a little more creative.
If you have a memo board in your house, you can let your child write a short note where Dad will see it or, if you have more than one child, you can ask a one word answer question and let everyone give an answer.
You can also use pre-printed cards like the ones you can download below. Print the cards on card stock if you have it, but any paper will do just fine. You can print one set for your children to share, or one set per child.
Then you can have your children hide them for Daddy to find or, you could turn them into ornaments and hang them on a metal display tree. You could add a new ornament to the tree each day for the week leading up to Father’s Day.
