My girls have been begging to make homemade slime! I waited for the perfect day when we finished our homeschool work early and I needed something to entertain Phoebe. Glittered slime provides the perfect sensory play for days when she is a little over excited.
Easy Glitter Slime Recipe
I put off making slime with my kids for quite a while because all of the recipes I came across required ingredients that I did not have on hand. Since free time for us is pretty spontaneous, its important that activities be simple and made from common ingredients.
I am pretty sure you have all the ingredients needed for the basic version of this recipe in your house. Plus, as a benefit for moms, this recipe contains no borax!
Glitter Slim Ingredients
1/2 cup Elmer’s Glitter Glue
1/2 tsp Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
1 TBSP Saline Solution
1/2 cup Water
Combine Elmer’s Glitter Glue and water by whisking until well mixed. Add the Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and Saline and stir until the slim is desired consistency and pulling away from the sides of the mixing bowl.
DIY Slime Tips
- If your slime is too watery, add a bit more baking soda.
- Store your slime in a sealed Ziplock bag and it will last for several days.
- Avoid dropping slime on the floor to keep it from becoming crunchy with bits of dust and debris.
