Dollywood Bag Policy
When it comes to packing for Dollywood, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind. First and foremost, all guests are subject to a bag check upon entry. Guests are allowed to bring bags into the park.
Can I bring a backpack into Dollywood?
Backpacks are allowed in Dollywood, and actually a backpack or a cinch bag are probably the best bags to bring if you must bring something. Just remember to keep the bag as small as possible so that it will not get too heavy and so it will fit into a locker should you need to leave the bag.
Will Dollywood search my bag?
Before entering the Dollywood park, all bags must be searched by park staff or security. To expedite this process, here are a few tips:
- Bring in as few bags as possible
- Have your bag open and ready to search before reaching the gate
- Make sure you do not have anything that could be mistaken for a weapon
- Have each person in your family carry their own bag through check in
How many bags can I bring into Dollywood?
There is no limit to the number of bags you can bring into Dollywood listed on the Dollywood Website. However, you should consider what you are willing to carry around all day. Carrying multiple bags is cumbersome and will become tiring by the end of a long day.
Can you bring anything into Dollywood?
Dollywood is not super specific about the things that you can and cannot bring into the park in your bag. However, they do specifically prohibit weapons and alcohol. I would suggest carefully sorting your items to make sure there is nothing that can be considered a weapon in your bag, and make sure you have no alcohol.
Can you bring a water bottle into Dollywood?
You can bring a refillable water bottle into the park. Complimentary cups of water are available at all park food outlets, all you have to do is ask. Water fountains are located near many restrooms, or bottled water may be purchased at most food outlets.
Does Dollywood have lockers?
If you decide that you do not want to carry your bag around all day or you need a place to store your items while you are on a ride, Dollywood does have lockers for rent. All-day lockers are available at the Front Gate for only $15 for the day. Floating Lockers are also available throughout the park. Ride to ride floating locker rentals are available at Wild Eagle, Mystery Mine, FireChaser Express, Daredevil Falls, Barnstormer, River Rampage, Tennessee Tornado, Country Fair, & Lightning Rod. These lockers are a one-time fee of $10 for the day. This means you can rent and float from locker to locker without having to pay for each new locker. All lockers are sold on a first come, first serve basis.
Are there exceptions to the bag policy for special needs?
Though coolers are not allowed inside the park, those who need to bring medications, tube feedings and other special dietary items, may check with the park and bring a cooler in with these items. Also, bags containing items needed for medical care will be allowed.
As a parent, one of the last things you want to worry about while on vacation is whether or not your bags are compliant with the rules and regulations of the theme park you’re visiting. I hope this quick overview of what you can bring into Dollywood has cleared up any questions.
